Bharat Forge Limited (BFL) is a Pune-based Indian multinational company involved in automotives, power, oil & gas, construction & mining, locomotive, marine and aerospace industries. The company has now entered into the defence sector and is moving from being a components manufacturer to a complete product maker. The company was founded by Dr. Nilkanthrao A. Kalyani, in 1961.Bharat Forge has signed a joint venture with France-based power generation company, Alstom for turbines and generators. Alstom holds 51% of the shares and Bharat Forge 49% in the joint venture.

Bharat Forge Power Ltd started its manufacturing facility at Sanand in Gujarat. Global leader in metal forming they serve several sectors including Automotive, Railways, Aerospace, Marine, Oil & Gas, Power, Construction and Mining. Being the world’s largest forging company and amongst one of the best aerospace forging companies and automotive forging company, they have transcontinental presence across ten manufacturing locations spread across India, Germany, Sweden, France and North America. They are also a leading supplier of various components for the aviation sector making them a renowned name amongst aerospace forging companies in India and around the world.

The company’s CSR activities covers the 6 key growth areas: village development, education, sports, health, women empowerment and skill development.

Bharat Forge was awarded as “The Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) Annual Awards 2020”, under Corporate Social Responsibility.

Covid-19 Response

Bharat Forge donated Rs. 10 Cr to the PM Cares Fund, and donated 10 lacs to the covid-19 hospitals for obtaining new Ambulance and doctors vehicles. Bharat Forge organised workshops for stitching Cotton Masks for members of community centres and Self Help Groups and 10000 masks are stitched and distributed. Monetary contributions of Rs. 1 Cr were made to the Defence Research and Development Organisation for supporting their 1000-Bed Covid hospital facility development in Delhi. Bharat Forge donated 1000 Personal Protective Equipment [PPEs] for the doctors at Sassoon General Hospital in Pune and 100 sets of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) were sent out for safeguarding health of the Healthcare workers and for the Pune Municipal Corporation workers who handle dead bodies. Bharat Forge contributed  towards development of 11 Sanitisation Tunnels which costs 4.5 lacs at the residential colony of police.

Their shareholding pattern consists of Promoters and Promoter Group having 44.76% of shares, Public having 17.65% shares, Government having 0.16% followed by FII’s having 25.30% shares and DII’s with 12.13% shares.
