The Ramco Cements Limited is a company of Ramco Group, a business group based in Chennai, India. The company is a producer of ready – mix concrete and dry motor products and operates wind farms. It was founded in the year 1961 by P A C Ramasamy Raja. The core offering of the company is Portland cement, manufactured in eight production facilities that includes integrated cement plants and grinding units with a current total production capacity of 16.45 MTPA. The company opened its first Windfar at Muppandal in the year 1993, and only 2 years later, they installed 69 additional windmills at Poolavadi near Coimbatore.  At present, they are the 5th largest manufacturing company in the country and a leading player in South India.

The company has presence across value chains for procurement, manufacturing, marketing, logistics and distribution. They have direct dealing with many dealers, sub dealers and end users. They ensure deeper penetration on the rural side of the country. The upcoming developments of the company like: An integrated cement plant at Kalavatala, Kurnool District, Andhra Pradesh will help in company’s extensive growth. Recently, Chief Minister – Naveen Patnaik has inaugurated the new grinding plant of Ramco Cements Ltd. (RCL) at Haridaspur in Odisha. They have also bagged the award for excellent corporate governance and its Ariyalur unit has won a gold medal in the Indian Green Manufacturing Challenge, organized by International research Institute for Manufacturing.

They have contributed Rs.2.50 Cr towards Tamil Nadu CM relief fund to fight against COVID-19 and have also procured medical equipment for various state agencies costing over Rs.3 Cr which will reach state agencies at the earliest. The share of the company is currently traded on BSE and NSE, and their shareholding pattern consist of: Promoters with 42.54% shares, FIIs with 8.26% shares, DIIs with 23.23% shares, Public with 22.57% shares, and Government with 3.39% shares.

For the quarter ending 31-03-2021, the company has recorded a total income of Rs.1,641.53 Cr which is a 21.16% rise from last quarter. The revenue from operations was recorded to be Rs.1,633.73 Cr. against Rs.1,343.89 Cr. in the last quarter. Their PAT showed a 45.71% increase and stood at Rs.212.27Cr. against Rs.145.67Cr. from last year same time. Their EPS value remained constant from Q3 to Q4 in FY21 and stood at Rs.9.

Overall, the company showed an YoY growth of 51.10% in the FY21. The board of directors have declared an interim dividend of Rs.3 per share on 12-03-2021. Considering the COVID point, the company has shown a promising performance and their future plans look achievable.
