Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Limited is an Indian pharmaceutical company headquartered in Mumbai, India. It was founded in 1977 by Gracias Saldanha as a generic drug and active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturer. The company initially sold its products in India, Russia, and Africa. The company went public in India in 1999.
Glenmark Joy of Giving CSR efforts are supplemented further in different activities like: health camps, rallies, shramdaan, organizing competitions and conducting sessions to create awareness on health, nutrition and hygiene. Over the years, more than 6,100 employees have volunteered and over 40,000 hours of community service. Employees from over 49 Glenmark locations across 31 countries impacted lives in their surrounding communities through the Joy of Giving initiative.
They initiate their flagship program Project ‘Kavach’ under which they conduct all their child health initiatives.
Access to Health Care they have donated medicines through partnership with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), AmeriCares and Save the Children during various natural calamities. Apart from medicines, they have also donated three mobile healthcare units to the Health Department, Government of Sikkim.
Promotion of Sports Glenmark Aquatic Foundation (GAF) their CSR arm is focussed on promotion of swimming as sport in India. GAF aims to improve the ecosystem for swimming as a sport in India by building a core team of highly motivated experts, developing meaningful partnerships with national and international organizations and will focus on maximizing the potential in every athlete.
Sustainable Livelihoods this projects aim at empowering the underprivileged to improve the quality of their lives. They have made a difference to over 80,000 lives through their Sustainable Livelihood initiatives.

Their shareholding pattern consists of Promoters and Promoter Group having 46.63% of shares, Public having 16.82% shares, followed by FII’s having 26.82% shares and DII’s with 9.73% shares.
