Hero MotoCorp Limited, formerly Hero Honda, is an Indian multinational motorcycle and scooter manufacturer in New Delhi, India. It was established in 1984 Brijmohan Lall Munjal. The company is the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the world, and also in India, where it has a market share of about 37.1% in the two-wheeler industry. As of 27 May 2021, the market capitalization of the company was ₹59,600 crores (US$8.4 billion). Hero’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) platform revolves around three flagship initiatives – the ‘Ride Safe’ program, empowerment of the girl child, and the ‘Happy Earth’ program for the environment.

The Company’s Ride Safe program, which has been recognized by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of the Government of India, has seen participation from over 100,000 people, including students, teachers, police personnel and Hero customers.

The ‘Hamari Pari’ (Our Angels) program, which recognizes the ability of girls to become agents of social change, has already benefited over 100,000 adolescent underprivileged girls through financial assistance, motivational sessions, and guidance camps.

The ‘Happy Earth’ program aims to protect, conserve, restore and optimally use environmental resources through various initiatives including tree plantation drives, water conservation programs and conservation of wildlife.

Additionally, under its Community Care Program, Hero has been engaged in the socio-economic development of more than 100 villages in several parts of India through various initiatives including skill development of the youth, promotion of sports, health camps and water harvesting projects.

In FY’21, they reduced their energy consumption by 5%, thereby reducing carbon emissions. They have also achieved water positivity of 31% and improved our solar footprint by 30%. Going forward, they aim to have Carbon Neutral operations by 2030, 500% water positive by 2025 and Zero Waste to Landfill by 2025.

Hero MotoCorp felicitated by the Economic Times as “Best Workplace for Women 2021”.

Their shareholding pattern consists of Promoters and Promoter Group having 34.76% of shares, Public having 10.05% shares followed by FII’s having 34.97% shares and DII’s with 20.23% shares.
