Pidilite Industries Limited is an Indian adhesives manufacturing company. It was founded in 1959 by Balvant Parekh. Pidilite’s corporate office is located in Andheri (East), Mumbai. From adhesives, sealants, waterproofing solutions and construction chemicals to art and craft, industrial resins, polymers and more, their product portfolio is as diverse as it is ever-evolving.
Pidilite markets the Fevicol range of adhesives. Its other brands are FeviKwik, Dr. Fixit, Roff, Cyclo, Ranipal, Hobby Ideas, M-seal and Acron. The company has manufacturing facilities at various locations across India, including in Mahad (Maharashtra), Vapi (Gujarat), Baddi and Kala Amb (both in Himachal Pradesh).
Corporate Social Responsibility is important at Pidilite. Pidilite community initiatives are linked to not only create employment opportunities for the locals around the manufacturing facility, but also take steps to improve their health and lifestyle through several initiatives in medical aid, agriculture, horticulture, water management, animal husbandry and education. The company has made arrangements with various institutes and expert organizations, for providing technical inputs to the farmers, for the important crops of the region such as cotton, onion, groundnut, coconut, etc.
Shri Balvant Parekh Science City was founded by Pidilite at Bhavnagar. Replete with facilities like conference hall, computer unit, physics laboratory and library, this Science City uses novel methods to generate interest among students and helps to develop analytical skills among them. The company supports Shree Mahuva Education Trust which runs arts, science, commerce and information technology and business administration classes for students. Over 1500 students enroll in this Trust every year. Kalsar village in Bhavnagar had limited educational facilities for young girls, several arrangements are made to ensure these girls can pursue their education until matriculation. Free eye check-up camps were conducted using mobile ophthalmic vans in 22 schools of Mahuva and surrounding areas, covering 2158 students. These camps were also conducted in 16 villages and via this facility around 190 free cataract surgeries were performed in the hospital.
Pidilite’s Sustainability Strategy aims to create value for their stakeholders, while reducing the ecological footprint of their operations. Promoting use of raw materials and manufacturing products with reduced environment footprint, Reduction in plastics consumption and promoting use of recycled plastics in packaging, minimising water intensity, minimising energy intensity, maximising renewable energy potential, minimising waste intensity and zero-harm operations and enhancing the impacts on communities.
Their shareholding pattern consists of Promoters and Promoter Group having 70.13% of shares, Public having 10.64% shares followed by FII’s having 12.08% shares and DII’s with 7.15% shares.
