Gujarat Gas Limited is an Indian natural gas distribution company, owned by Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation. Company was established in 1980, and headquartered in Ahmedabad. Gujarat Gas Limited (GGL) is India’s largest City Gas Distribution player, with 27 CGD licenses spread across 43 districts in 6 states and 1 Union territory GGL continues to hold the leadership position in CGD industry in terms of size and scale of operation, with more than 15.5 lakhs households, over 13,000 commercial customers, 559 CNG stations, over 4,000 industrial units and close to 30,000 kilometre of natural gas pipeline network. The Company distributed over 12 mmscmd of natural gas.
The Old Name of the Company was GSPC Distribution Networks Limited. GGL is an ISO certified organisation for its Integrated QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment) Management System.
GGL main CSR Focus is on eradicating hunger, poverty and malnutrition, promoting education, promoting gender equality, protection of national heritage, art and culture and measures for the benefit of armed forces veterans, war widows and rural development projects, slum area development. Training to promote rural sports, nationally recognised sports, Paralympic sports and Olympic sports and also contribution to the PM CARES Fund.
GGL is recently awarded with Business Today’s Best CEO Award 2020 in the Oil & Gas category and Business Standard STAR PSU Award 2020
COVID-19 RESPONSE
Creating health infrastructure for COVID care, establishment of medical oxygen generation and storage plants, manufacturing and supply of Oxygen concentrators, ventilators, cylinders and other medical equipment for countering COVID-19.
Their shareholding pattern consists of Promoters and Promoter Group having 60.89% of shares, Public having 23.04% shares, following by FII’s having 8.17% shares and DII’s with 7.9% shares.
