Power Finance Corporation Ltd is a leading power sector public financial institution and a non-banking financial company providing fund and non-fund-based support for the development of the Indian power sector. Established in 1986, it is the financial backbone of Indian Power Sector. The company issued an IPO in January 2007. The issue was oversubscribed by over 76 times, which is one of the largest for an IPO of any Indian company. PFC is India’s largest NBFC and India’s largest infrastructure finance company. It is also the nodal agency for Ultra Mega Power Projects (UMPPs), Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) and Independent Transmission Projects (ITPs).
A major part of PFC’s funds is raised through Rupee-denominated bonds. PFC bonds enjoy the highest credit rating in the Indian market and in international markets; they are rated at par with the Indian Sovereign rating. The company has disbursed loans of more than Rs 6.5 trillion till now with the cost of funds of 7.79%.
As a responsible corporate citizen, PFC has contributed donated Rs 200 crores to PM-CARES Fund. The company has also provided medical equipment, PPE kits, sanitizers, face masks etc. to various district administrations for fighting this pandemic. Company has contributed towards providing lunch facilities for the medial staff at the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi.
Their shareholding pattern include: Promoters having 55.99% shares, FIIs having 17.32% shares, DIIs having 19.55% shares and Public having 7.14% shares.
For the quarter ended 31-03-2021, the company has reported a Consolidated Total Income of Rs 18155.14 Crore, down 1.55% from last quarter Total Income of Rs 18441.72 Crore and up 11.69% from last year same quarter Total Income of Rs 16254.65 Crore. Company has reported net profit after tax of Rs 3906.05 Crore in latest quarter. The Board of Directors decided to recommend a Final Dividend @ Rs. 2.00 per equity share on face value of paid-up equity of Rs. 10/- each for the financial year 2020-21.
