Bata India is the largest retailer and leading manufacturer of footwear in India and is a part of the Bata Shoe Organization. The company is the world’s leading shoemaker by volume, and it has a retail presence of over 5,300 shops in more than 70 countries and production facilities in 18 countries.
Bata went public in 1973 when it changed its name to Bata India Limited. Today, Bata India has established itself as India’s largest footwear retailer. Its retail network of over 1375 stores give it a reach / coverage that no other footwear company can match. It also operates a large nonretail distribution network through its urban wholesale division and caters to millions of customers through over 30,000 dealers.
As Covid response, Bata Group commits to donate 1 million pairs of shoes to health care workers, volunteers and their families, the front-liners fighting the COVID-19 with admirable courage and dedication every day. The donation will impact several countries in Europe, Latin America, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and India. The factory has made close to 20,000 high quality face masks that have been distributed to our employees, people living in the surrounding community, Hospital & to Police Department.
For the quarter ended 31-03-2021, the company has reported a Consolidated Total Income of Rs 604.28 Crore, down by 3.9% from last quarter Total Income of Rs 628.84 Crore and down by 5.23% from last year same quarter Total Income of Rs 637.65 Crore. Company has reported net profit of Rs 29.47 Crore in latest quarter. The Board of Directors decided to recommend a Final Dividend @ Rs.4 per equity share of Rs.5 each for the financial year 2020-21.
