Hindalco Industries Limited is the metals flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group headquartered in Mumbai. It was founded in 1958 and now is an industry leader in aluminium and copper. Hindalco is one of the world’s largest aluminium rolling companies and one of the biggest producers of primary aluminium in Asia. The company ranks among the global aluminium majors as an integrated producer and has a footprint in 9 countries outside India.
Hindalco’s acquisition of Aleris Corporation in April 2020, through its subsidiary Novelis Inc., has cemented the company’s position as the world’s largest flat-rolled products player and recycler of aluminium. It produces copper cathodes and continuous cast copper rods, along with other by-products, including gold, silver, and DAP fertilisers. It is India’s largest private producer of gold.

The company held a meeting on 21st May,2021 and announced reappointment of Mr. Satish Pai as managing director and Mr. Praveen Kumar Maheshwari as whole-time director.
For the quarter ended 31-03-2021, the company has reported a Consolidated Total Income of Rs 40,696 Crore, up 15.34% from last quarter Total Income of Rs 35,281 Crore and up 39% from last year same quarter Total Income of Rs 29,264 Crore. Company has reported net profit after tax of Rs 1,928 Crore in latest quarter. The Board of Directors decided to recommend a Final Dividend @ Rs. 3 per equity share of Re. 1/- each for the financial year 2020-21.
