Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) is an Indian steel and energy company headquartered in New Delhi, India. JSPL was founded by O.P. Jindal. JSPL is a leading player in steel, power, mining, oil and gas and infrastructure in India. The company produces steel and power through backward integration from its own captive coal and iron-ore mines.
In terms of tonnage, it is the third largest steel producer in India. The company manufactures and sells sponge iron, mild steel slabs, Ferro chrome, iron ore, mild steel, structural, hot rolled plates and coils and coal-based sponge iron plant. The company’s product portfolio spans across the steel value chain from widest flat products to a whole range of long products and rails. JSPL exports its diversified product portfolio to 22+ countries.
JSPL Foundation is the Social arm of Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (JSPL) which executes its CSR Mission to shape up and improve the Quality of Life of the Local Community. The CSR interventions are focused on enhancing quality of life of the community in the vicinity of business locations and other parts of the country by way of improving community healthcare and education, and also developing critical civic infrastructures besides generating sustainable livelihood options, promoting sports, art & culture and several other programme.
JSPL sustainability framework stands on these five pillars which are Government and Industry Bodies, Local Communities, Employees, Media, Customers and Suppliers and Investors.
Covid-19 Response
JSPL contributed INR 25 crores to PM Cares Fund. JSPL had committed to supply free oxygen in any hospital in the states of Chhattisgarh and Odisha if face any shortfall. JSPL provided medical support through its hospitals & health care centres and created quarantine facilities at its manufacturing units. Cooked food was served to truck drivers, migrant workers and other vulnerable communities. Baby food was provided to infants. Women self-help groups made disposal and washable masks for the workforce hospitals and nearby communities.
JSPL Foundation launched the JSPL’s ‘MISSION ZERO HUNGER’ in the states of Chhattisgarh, Odisha & Jharkhand to end hunger and ensure food security.
Their shareholding pattern consists of Promoters and Promoter Group having 60.47% of shares, Public having 13.76% shares, Government having 0.73% following by FII’s having 10.54% shares and DII’s with 14.50% shares.
