Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) is a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation. It is India’s largest passenger car maker. The Company is engaged in the business of manufacturing and sale of passenger vehicles in India. It started with Making of a small iconic Maruti 800 car and today, Maruti Suzuki has a vast portfolio of 16 car models with over 150 variants. The main products of Maruti Suzuki are Automobiles, Commercial Vehicle, Automotive Parts, Pickups Trucks, and SUVs. And the services provided by Maruti Suzuki are automotive finance and Vehicle services.
The Company, formerly known as Maruti Udyog Limited, was incorporated as a joint venture between the Government of India and Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan in February, 1981. Presently, Suzuki Motor Corporation owns equity of 56.2%. The Company’s shares are traded on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
CSR INITIATIVES:
At the time of Covid-19, Maruti Suzuki donated 2 lakh units of 3-ply face masks to the Rohtak Administration with the help of its JV M/s Krishna Maruti. The company also donated 1000 packs of dry ration to the Rohtak Administration, in addition to contributing 50 ventilators to extend support to Haryana Government. As the fight against COVID-19 continues, Maruti Suzuki contributes 10,000 meters of cotton cloth to the District Administration of Gurugram, Government of Haryana to help prepare more than 1.5 lakh face masks.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) examined its ability to assist in the production of ventilators, masks and other protective equipment, an arrangement has been entered into with AgVa Healthcare, an existing approved manufacturer of ventilators. MSIL would work with AgVa Healthcare to rapidly scale up production of ventilators. The intention is to reach a volume of 10,000 units per month.
Their shareholding pattern consists of Promoters and Promoter Group having 56.37% of shares, Public having 4.97% shares following by FII’s having 22.9% shares and DII’s with 15.76% shares.
