INDUSIND BANK
IndusInd Bank Limited is a new-generation Indian bank headquartered in Pune. The bank offers commercial, transactional and electronic banking products and services. IndusInd Bank was inaugurated in April 1994. IndusInd Bank is the first among the new-generation private banks in India. The bank began its operations on 17 April 1994 under the chairmanship of S. P. Hinduja with the primary objective of serving the NRI community.
The bank started its operations with ₹100 crores (10 billion) in capital, of which ₹60 crores were raised by Indian residents and ₹40 crores were raised by Non-Resident Indians (NRI). The bank specializes in retail banking services and is also working on expanding its network of branches all across the country. According to the bank, its name is derived from the Indus Valley Civilisation.
IndusInd Bank is a universal Bank with a widespread banking footprint with over 2.5 crore customers, over 5,000 distribution points and nearly 2,000 branches across the country. With ‘Sustainability’ at the core, they offer a wide array of products and services for individuals and corporates including microfinance, personal loans, personal and commercial vehicles loans, credit cards, SME loans. They are also a preferred banking partner for various Government entities, PSUs and large corporates. Their mission is to consistently add value to all their stakeholders by enhancing the sustainability of the organisation and emerge as India’s most convenient Bank with financial metrics amongst the best in the industry.
To oversee the implementation of their sustainability initiatives, the Bank has constituted a board level CSR and Sustainability committee. The sustainability governance structure consists of the board level committee, Sustainability council, Sustainability team followed by coordinators at the implementation level in business functions.
Their shareholding pattern consists of Promoters and Promoter Group having 16.54% of shares, Public having 13.66% shares following by FII’s having 52.05% shares and DII’s with 17.74% shares.
