Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited is an Indian banking & financial services company headquartered in the city of Mumbai, India. In February 2003, Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd. (KMFL), the group’s flagship company, received a banking licence from the Reserve Bank of India. It offers banking products and financial services for corporate and retail customers in the areas of personal finance, investment banking, life insurance, and wealth management.
As of February 2021, Kotak Mahindra Bank is the third largest Indian private sector bank by market capitalization, with 1600 branches & 2519 ATMs.
CSR INITIATIVES:
In a span of 10 years, over 22,000 students have benefited from the Umang program. Since inception the Guru Program has worked with 400 teachers across 25 schools and has supported 2,331 students in 15 schools through its primary year program. Their various healthcare initiatives impact over 45,000 students every year. Since inception, their Nourish Program has served over 2 million meals across 23 partner schools and provides meals to over 11,000 students every day. More than 12,500 young girls and boys have already been trained. 7,695 have been placed and helped their families move out of poverty. Most of these youngsters have been successfully integrated into the hospitality or retail sectors across Mumbai and receive an average salary exceeding Rs. 10,000 per month. Their Unnati Program has a strong alumni association that keeps visiting our centres to motivate new aspirants.
COVID-19 INITIATIVES:
In 2020, Kotak pledged to donate ₹50 crore to the PM CARES Fund to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in India.
Their shareholding pattern consists of Promoters and Promoter Group having 26% of shares, Public having 16.61% shares following by FII’s having 42.77% shares and DII’s with 14.62% shares.
