Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), is an Indian Government Electricity Board and a Maharatna PSU owned by Ministry of Power, GOI which is headquartered in Gurugram. Power Grid Corporation of India Limited is a transmission company engaged in the power transmission business with responsibility for planning, implementation, operation and maintenance of inter-state transmission system and operation of national and regional load dispatch centres. The company’s segments include transmission and consultancy. The company has 168140 circuit kilometres of transmission network and 252 sub-stations as on 31 January 2021. It has a total transformation capacity of about 422430 lakh megavolt amperes as on 31 January 2021. This gigantic transmission network spread over length and breadth of the country is consistently maintained at an availability of over 99%. The company has diversified into telecom business to utilize spare telecommunication capacity of unified load dispatch centre (ULDC) schemes using country-wide transmission infrastructure.As a responsible corporate citizen, PowerGrid Corporation of India has contributed donated Rs 200 crores to PM-CARES Fund. PowerGrid has also earmarked ₹30.0 crore for undertaking various CSR activities including distribution of meal packets, PPE kits to labourers, needy person. For last four years, PowerGrid’s CSR expenditure has exceeded the 2% criteria.Their shareholding pattern include: Promoters having 51.34% shares, FIIs having 28.39% shares, DIIs having 13.77% shares and Public having 6.50% shares.For the quarter ended 31-03-2021, the company has reported a Consolidated Total Income of Rs 10816.3 Crore, up 4.40% from last quarter Total Income of Rs 10359.48 Crore and up 2.93% from last year same quarter Total Income of Rs 10507.65 Crore. Company has reported net profit after tax of Rs 3526.23 Crore in latest quarter. The Board of Directors decided to recommend a Final Dividend @ Rs 3.00 per share for the financial year 2020-21 subject to the approval of the shareholders at the ensuing Annual General Meeting of the Company.
