Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) is an Indian government owned engineering and manufacturing enterprise with headquarters in New Delhi. It is under the ownership of Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Government of India. It has global footprint in more than 83 countries.
BHEL is engaged in the design, engineering, manufacturing, construction, testing, commissioning, and servicing of a wide range of products, systems, and services for the core sectors of the economy, viz. power, transmission, industry, transportation, renewable energy, oil & gas, and defence. It is India’s largest power generation equipment manufacturer.
Currently, BHEL has a network of 17 manufacturing units, 2 repair units, 4 regional offices, 8 service centres, 8 overseas offices, 15 regional centres, 7 joint ventures, and infrastructure allowing it to execute more than 150 projects at sites across India and abroad. The company has established the capability to deliver 20,000 MW p.a. of power equipment to address the growing demand for power generation equipment.
As a Covid response, BHEL’s Bhopal and Haridwar plant has so far supplied over 1,53,000 cubic meters of oxygen (over 23,000 cylinders) and 55,000 cylinders (over 3,00,000 CuM) of medical oxygen, respectively.
For the quarter ended 31-03-2021, the company has reported a Consolidated Total Income of Rs 7,245.16 Crore, up by 59.85% from last quarter Total Income of Rs 4,532.39 Crore and up 39.50% from last year same quarter Total Income of Rs 5,193.51 Crore. The company has reported a net loss of Rs 1036.32 Crore in the latest quarter. The results of FY21 were competent.
