Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is an Indian government owned steel manufacturing enterprise with headquarters in New Delhi. It is under the ownership of Ministry of Steel, Government of India. SAIL manufactures and sells a broad range of steel products. With an annual production of 16.30 million metric tons, SAIL is the 20th largest steel producer in the world and the largest in India. The Hot Metal production capacity of the company will further increase and is expected to reach a level of 50 million tonnes per annum by 2025.
SAIL produces iron and steel at five integrated plants and three special steel plants, located principally in the eastern and central regions of India and situated close to domestic sources of raw materials.
As a Covid response, SAIL was constantly stood with the nation by providing more than 1100 tonnes liquid medical oxygen every day and more than 400 beds with oxygen supply at hospitals.
For the quarter ended 31-03-2021, the company has reported a Consolidated Total Income of Rs 23,533.19 Crore, up by 17.68% from last quarter Total Income of Rs 19,997.31 Crore and up 41.98% from last year same quarter Total Income of Rs 16,574.71 Crore. Company has reported net profit of Rs 3,469.88 Crore in latest quarter. The Board of Directors decided to recommend a Final Dividend @ Rs.1.80 per equity share of Rs.10 each for the financial year 2020-21.
The results of FY21 were competent.
